    Las Brisas

In the 1970s, the clifftop Las Brisas, villas became the location for elaborate and constant parties hosted by vacationers like the rental car king Warren Avis. With guests including everyone from fashion designer Oscar de la Renta and his French wife, Françoise de Langlade, to models like Marisa Berenson, these hedonistic parties became the perfect backdrop to the evolving style of the 1970s string bikinis, headscarves, ropes of beads and baubles, and endless games of backgammon by the pool. Socialites, fashion designers, and entrepreneurs weren't the only visitors to Mexico's Gold Coast resort. Elvis Presley filmed Fun in Acapulco there, John F Kennedy and his bride, Jackie, honeymooned there, and Elizabeth Taylor became a regular along with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr., who frequented the El Mirador hotel.
